Mike Corbett is first seen as a young officer on the space colony Terra Venture, later
known to be second in command of the colony though he is only 21. He is obviously excited about the upcoming departure and
at the same time trying to keep a cool facade. When we see him staring out the window at Earth sadly, it seems that he might
be leaving more than just the planet behind.
This is evident when he encounters a stowaway on their last training mission to the moon.
The stowaway is revealed to be Leo Corbett-- Mike's little brother, and Mike is furious at him, but more worried than anything.
Mike decides to go through the portal to help Maya and her people though he has no idea what
is actually going on. Kendrix goes with him and eventually all the soon-to-be rangers are there. When fighting Furio, Mike
pulls one of the quasar sabers from the stone, and the other four do the same, showing themselves to be the ones chosen to
be power rangers.
When Furio cuts a hole in the earth Mike pushes Leo away from it and ends up falling in himself.
He gives his saber to Leo and tells him to carry on for him. Leo tries to get Mike to take his hand, but Mike won't, and instead
let's go and allows himself to fall.
We don't see him for a while in person, but later we find out he was saved by the Magna Defender
so he could take Mike's life force and return to the land of the living. Mike was very much alive inside him and tortured
the Magna Defender with his goodness, always trying to get him to do the right thing. He also has the ability to speak to
his brother at times, telling him when he was needed, but not enough to tell him what had happened.
In the season finale, the Magna Defender sacrifices himself and Mike is set free. He has some
trouble explaining where he's been to his senior officers, but they let him off the hook easily enough. Everyone is thrilled
to have him back and he joins the rest of them quite smoothly.
Leo tries to give Mike back the quasar saber, saying it was his destiny, not Leo's, but Mike
refuses. Then the Magna Defender appears to him and tells him that he has his own destiny-- to carry on the legacy of the
Magna Defender. Mike recieves his sword and morphs, joining the team.
Mike is missing from many of the episodes, probably at work or something, he is never mentioned
or shown, but he does have a few very good episodes focusing on him. They all show clearly his nobility and honor, and his
strong desire to do what is right. He is extremely protective of Leo, and will do just about anything for him, and he also
takes his job at the GSA very seriously, and seems to enjoy it a lot. He is very smart, and often comes up with solutions
to their problems.
Towards the end of the series, Mike loses his powers and nearly loses his life trying to help
Terra Venture leave the Lost Galaxy. He doesn't regret the choice, but he feels the loss in the finale when he is unable to
go to Terra Venture and help Leo. He instead watched from Mirinoi, and when Terra Venture crashes he thinks they are all dead.
But of course they aren't, and the five rangers appear relatively
unharmed. Mike and Leo embrace affectionately, and they all celebrate. When Kendrix returns, Mike is obviously happy, but
hangs back with Karone and doesn't go over to Kendrix and the others for some reason. Unable to return for the Lightspeed
Rescue Team-Up, that is the last he is seen.
